Deformation Quantization: Of old and new – Vortragender: Stefan Waldmann, Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg – Einladender: G. Lechner

Abstract: In this talk I will give first an overview on the basic
concepts and results from deformation quantization including a fairly detailed motivation.
The transition of star products based on formal power series to such with
honestly convergent series gained quite some interest in the recent decade. I
will report on the main ideas and competing approaches to strict deformation
quantization, including a discussion of some recent progress.
