- Efficient numerical treatment of reactive transport problems (PDE-ODE-DAE systems)
- Complementarity problems arising from precipitation-dissolution reactions of minerals, semismooth Newton method
- Older research topics (before 2002):
- Domain decomposition methods (CGBI/FETI) and construction of efficient interface-acting preconditioners, and its implementation in a parallel Navier-Stokes solver coupling FE and spectral local solvers
